My name is Daniel, I am 16 years old and I`m studying several subjects at California State University of Fullerton during this month of July. I would like to study at an american university, especially after graduating at a brazilian college. I will try to do the best of the universities in Brazil, but if I don`t succed, I will attend an american university in anyway. The problem is that I would like to attend a brazilian university because I prefer to live in Brazil, and if I attend an american university, I will find difficulties to get a job in Brazil. That`s why I think that it would be more interesting to study at an american university after graduating at a brazilian university.
This course at the California State University of Fullerton is providing me a great experience of studying in the USA. The several subjects that I learn here are very different from each other and they have a special way of combining themselves. After studying English through drama at the same time of History through Music I noticed how interesting, cultural and fun they provide us. The course is very strong at the point of understanding the american culture through many elements of our routine, such as songs, cultural historical music, movies and sports.

The theme of the article is the matter of people going early to school and having trouble with the subjects, grades and can`t pay attention to the classes. The teachers notice those problems with the teenagers and report to the directors and principals of the school and colleges. The other part of the theme shows the problem of the presidency candidates, who do not try to solve the educational problems of the USA. The evidence that the author uses is that teenagers’ body clocks are set to a schedule that is different from that of younger children or adults. This prevents teenagers from dropping off until around 11 p.m., when they produce the sleep-inducing hormone melatonin, and waking up much before 8 a.m. when their bodies stop producing melatonin. The result is that the first class of the morning is often a waste, with as many as 28 percent of students falling asleep, according to a National Sleep Foundation poll. Some are so sleepy they don’t even show up, contributing to failure and dropout rates.
In my opinion, school should really starts later, because everybody feels lazy, tired, asleep and end up sleeping and missing the first classes. The result of these are bad grades, low participation in class and waste of time and money. The students sleep late not because they want to, well sometimes they do, but usually they keep studying until midnight or more and sleep very little for the next school day. The classes should start at 9 or 10 a.m. and lasts the entire afternoon, until 5 or 6 p.m.. This way the results of the students would get much better, it would not be a waste of time and money and the students would feel more encouraged to study and learn new stuff.

As was noted earlier, the majority of computer games produced today have violence as their
principal theme. Despite the growing concerns of parents and teachers in the past decade, it
would appear from my research that violence in computer games is becoming increasingly
realistic and explicit. We are thus faced with the familiar question: Does playing violent
computer games lead to aggressive behavior in young people? This is clearly a highly complex
issue. Research conducted in the past decade has revealed that young people who regularly play
violent computer games have a tendency to be more aggressive than those who do not. Perhaps
not surprisingly, my findings tend to support this position. (extracted from p. 116)

the effects of computer games (pp. 108-124). London: St Martin’s Press.

Popular activities of any sort can be addictive. Some people are addicted to sport, and some to
television, for example. Both these examples, and many others, can be harmful to one's health
and social life if done too much. In addition, the quality of a computer game is an important
factor that may cause people to play it a lot, in fact, some players think that a good computer
game should be addictive.

My opinion (synthesis):
In my opinion, computer games can cause the person to be quite violent(Walker, A. 2001), but just with their friends and it`s not a real violence, it`s just some plays involving emotion because of the little violence (Smith, A. J. 2003).  If computer and video games would cause people to kill each other, the world definetly had turned into chaos already. Around 90 percent of boys and 40 percent of girls are gamers, so we can conclude that video games may excite violence, but a person would hardly kill because of the video game`s  incentive.

The 2012 Wimbledon final in London, England will happen between two of the biggest tennis players: Andy Murray (Great Britain) and Roger Federer (Switzerland). If Federer wins, he is taking back the no. 1 from Novak Djokovic, who was defeated in the semi-final by Federer. Murray is the first british player in a final since 1938, and the last british champion was in 1936. If Murray wins, he is going to break a 76 years without winning wimbledon championships.

The article was written by The Associated Press and it's name is Andy Murray awaits Roger Federer

I am in California during the month of July, in the year of 2012 to participate of a program that mixes study and vacation. It started yesterday and it`s going to last until July 26th.
The trip started in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Saturday and it was very long, because the first flight was to Dallas, and it followed to Los Angeles three hours later.
